Refund Policy

Clear guidance on subscription cancellations, refund eligibility, timelines, and payment disputes.

Effective date: 21 July 2026  •  Last updated: 21 July 2026
This template is written for EduGeNie’s digital learning platform. Replace placeholders such as company name, registered address, email ID, age group, and payment timelines before publishing.

1. Policy Overview

This Refund Policy applies to eligible purchases made directly from EduGeNie. Purchases made through an app store, marketplace, school, reseller, or other third party may be governed by that provider’s refund process.

2. Free Trials

If a free trial is offered, the duration and conversion terms will be shown before activation. You must cancel before the trial ends to avoid the first paid charge. Charges made after a trial converts are refundable only where this policy or applicable law provides otherwise.

3. Subscription Cancellations

You may cancel a subscription at any time. Cancellation stops future renewal but normally does not end access immediately; you may continue using paid features until the end of the current billing period.

Partial-period or prorated refunds are not ordinarily provided unless required by law or expressly approved under this policy.

4. When a Refund May Be Approved

A refund may be considered where:

  • You were charged more than once for the same purchase.
  • An unauthorised or incorrect charge is confirmed after verification.
  • A paid service remained materially unavailable due to a confirmed EduGeNie technical issue and we could not provide a reasonable remedy.
  • You were charged after cancelling before the renewal deadline and can provide evidence of the cancellation.
  • Applicable consumer law requires a refund.

5. Non-Refundable Situations

Refunds will generally not be issued for:

  • Change of mind after substantial use of the service.
  • Failure to cancel before renewal.
  • Unused time remaining in a billing cycle.
  • Incompatibility caused by unsupported devices, outdated software, network issues, or third-party restrictions.
  • Dissatisfaction with scores, progress, recommendations, or learning outcomes.
  • Accounts suspended or terminated for policy violations.
  • Promotional credits, coupons, gifts, or complimentary access, unless required by law.

6. How to Request a Refund

Send a request to support@edugenie.in within [7/14] days of the charge and include:

  • Account email or registered mobile number.
  • Transaction ID, invoice number, purchase date, and amount.
  • Reason for the request and any relevant screenshots or evidence.

Do not send complete card numbers, banking passwords, OTPs, or other sensitive financial credentials.

7. Review and Processing Time

We aim to acknowledge requests within [2] business days and complete review within [7–10] business days. Approved refunds are sent to the original payment method. Banks, card networks, app stores, and payment gateways may require additional time to reflect the credit.

8. App Store and Third-Party Purchases

For purchases made through Apple App Store, Google Play, a school, reseller, or another third party, submit the refund request directly through that provider unless the provider directs you to EduGeNie.

9. Payment Disputes and Chargebacks

Please contact EduGeNie support before initiating a chargeback so we can investigate and attempt to resolve the issue. Fraudulent or abusive refund claims may result in account restrictions.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Refund Policy to reflect changes in pricing, products, payment methods, or applicable law. The version in effect on the purchase date will generally apply to that transaction, unless law requires otherwise.
