1. Scope of This Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how EduGeNie collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal information when children, parents, guardians, educators, and institutions use our website, application, games, assessments, and support services.

2. Information We Collect

Account information

Name, parent or guardian contact details, login credentials, age or age range, learner profile, school or organisation, and account preferences.

Learning and activity information

Game attempts, answers, completion status, scores, time spent, progress, difficulty level, hints used, device interactions, and learning recommendations.

Technical information

Device type, browser, IP address, operating system, app version, crash logs, cookies, and security-related information.

Payment and support information

Transaction status, plan details, invoices, support messages, and communications. Full card or banking details are generally processed by authorised payment providers and are not stored by EduGeNie.

3. Children’s Privacy

We collect only information reasonably necessary to provide and improve the educational service. For child users, we rely on a parent, guardian, school, or other authorised adult to provide valid consent where required.

  • We do not knowingly sell children’s personal information.
  • We do not use sensitive child data for targeted advertising.
  • Parents or guardians may request access, correction, deletion, or closure of a child profile, subject to legal and operational requirements.

  • To create accounts and deliver games, activities, assessments, and progress reports.
  • To personalise difficulty, recommendations, and learning pathways.
  • To process subscriptions and provide customer support.
  • To maintain security, prevent fraud, diagnose errors, and improve performance.

  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our policies.

6. When We Share Information

We may share limited information with:

  • Hosting, analytics, communication, support, security, and payment service providers.
  • Schools, teachers, or institutional administrators authorised to view learner progress.
  • Professional advisers, regulators, law-enforcement agencies, or courts where legally required.
  • A successor organisation in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or transfer of assets.

Service providers are required to use information only for authorised purposes and to apply appropriate safeguards.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the service, maintain records, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, or protect users. Learning data may be retained while an account is active and for a limited period after closure, unless deletion is requested or a longer period is legally required.

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, such as access controls, encryption where appropriate, secure hosting, logging, backups, and restricted staff access. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

9. Your Rights and Choices

Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, withdrawal of consent, or objection to certain processing. You may also disable non-essential cookies or unsubscribe from promotional communications.
